What We Collect

When you visit Hidden Anime, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) may collect the following in aggregate, anonymised form:

• Pages visited and time spent
• Referral source (search, social, direct)
• Country and city (approximate, not precise location)
• Device type (mobile, desktop, tablet)
• Browser and operating system
• Session duration and scroll depth

IP addresses are anonymised before storage. We do not collect names, email addresses or any information that would identify you as an individual through this site.

Google Analytics 4

Hidden Anime uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), operated by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). GA4 uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect the data listed above.

GA4 data is processed under Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Google Analytics is configured on Hidden Anime with anonymize_ip: true. Analytics tracking runs only on the Production version of this site, not on development or preview builds.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (typically _ga, _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and sessions. These cookies do not contain personal data.

Cookie duration depends on the specific cookie and browser settings. The _ga cookie and _ga_* variants typically persist for up to two years. The Analytics session timeout (the period of inactivity after which a session ends) is separate from cookie duration and is set to 30 minutes by default. Both can be shortened by clearing cookies in your browser at any time.

Analytics tracking on Hidden Anime runs only when the Production version of the site is deployed with analytics configured. It does not run on development or preview builds.

Hidden Anime does not set any other cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing cookies or cross-site tracking.

Opting Out

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by:

• Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
• Enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings (GA4 respects DNT signals where configured)
• Using a privacy-focused browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts

Third-Party Services

Hidden Anime may link to or embed content from third-party services including YouTube (Google LLC) for official video embeds. These third parties operate under their own privacy policies and may set cookies when you interact with embedded content.

Hidden Anime participates in the Amazon Associates Programme. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow". Clicking these links may result in Amazon placing cookies in accordance with Amazon's privacy policy.

Data Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. We do not maintain separate databases of visitor information.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you (note: we hold aggregated analytics data only, not individual profiles)
• Request deletion of any data associated with you
• Object to processing
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Since Hidden Anime does not collect personal data beyond anonymised analytics, most individual data requests cannot be fulfilled by us directly — contact Google at policies.google.com/privacy for GA4-specific requests.

Children

Hidden Anime is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information via this site, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our data practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
